About Coingate

Established in 2014, Coingate is a payment gateway based in Lithuania. The platform allows merchants to accept digital currencies like Bitcoin as a form of payment. It also allows users to buy crypto, find stores that accept digital currencies, and purchase gift cards with cryptocurrency.

Features

Payment Methods

Coingate offers the ability to buy and choose over 50 kinds of cryptocurrencies. Coingate currently accepts four payment methods. These are:

SEPA credit transfer

This payment method is available for all verified Coingate users within Europe. Users can receive their crypto after 24 hours with the SEPA credit transfer.

Bank transfer

Coingate also allows users to purchase crypto via bank transfers. This payment method is available in five countries: China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Credit or debit cards

With credit or debit cards, users do not need to have an account to buy crypto, and the process only takes a maximum of 24 hours. They currently accept payments from MasterCard and Visa.

Mobile credit payments

Coingate also has the option to pay with a mobile balance, available worldwide. Depending on the amount and country, users can pay through phone or text message (SMS).

Payout Methods

When a merchant receives enough money for withdrawal, they may choose to pursue payout. Users can access the dashboard by going to the payout settings tab, where they can convert crypto for other currencies.

Coingate allows users to turn cryptocurrency into US dollars or Euros. They accept two payout methods, namely:

SEPA credit transfer

SEPA credit transfer is a method available for users within Europe. To get a payout using this method, users must fill out all necessary details, including the account holder’s name, bank name, swift code, and account number.

Bank transfer

For users outside Europe, bank transfers offer an alternative payout method. Users can get their payout in US dollars, Euros, or both with this method.

Lastly, users are also allowed to turn their digital assets into another type of cryptocurrency. Coingate will store the crypto in the person’s exclusive digital wallet, safe and protected from hackers.

Fees

Coingate charges a small amount for some of its services, namely merchant and trading fees.

For withdrawals, users do not pay any fees within Coingate. However, some third-party payout methods may require the customer to pay for the service fee, such as bank transfers.

For merchants, Coingate charges a 1% flat fee for payment processing. Customers who will buy from a seller do not need to pay a service fee for transactions, and the merchant will not accumulate recurring fees.

Crypto traders will incur a 3% flat fee for every transaction. Traders can exchange without depositing any funds, and they can buy or sell directly from their wallets. Coingate also offers 1% of referral earnings for traders.
